Welcome.

After 5.5 years as a blog on Scientific American, we're delighted to strike out on our own. Thank you for joining us!

Welcome to the New Symbiartic dot com!

Welcome to the New Symbiartic dot com!

From Katie, Kalliopi, and Glendon, welcome to the new Symbiartic!

After 5.5 years of being published by our fine peeps at Scientific American, we have featured hundreds of artists; we have talked about copyright, social media, science communication, and whether Anish Kapoor is a super-villain. We'll be continuing to act as freelance image curators for Scientific American, but we also wanted to continue our blog. So here we are!

We still have some renovations to do here on the new place, significantly, importing the 400+ posts we shared in the old place. (Thanks to Kerrissa Lynch at Scientific American for her help on that!) We're back. And ready to see where the world of science-inspired art takes us.

If you're not familiar with our blog, we explore the SciArt ecology: that is, the intersection of visual art and science. The three of us come from different artistic backgrounds: Kalliopi Monoyios is our hardcore scientific illustrator; Glendon Mellow is our flaky fine artist; and Katie McKissick is our irreverent comic artist.

Expect more posts and more news in the coming days, including the about the SciArt Tweet Storm (March 1-7!), and a new feature we'll be launching alongside our Patreon.

Thanks for joining us as we shake off our chrysalis, peeps! Who's here? Say hello below!
